1. An apparatus comprising
interface circuitry;
instructions; and
at least one processor circuit to be programmed by the instructions to:
determine respective metrics for respective macroblocks of a video frame, the respective metrics based on averages of respective pixels of the respective macroblocks;
obtain a frame signature encoded in the video frame, the frame signature based on extracted bits of the respective metrics;
authenticate the video frame based on the frame signature; and
obtain at least one of a device identifier, a time stamp or a frame count encoded in the video frame, the at least one of the device identifier, the time stamp or the frame count based on the extracted bits of the respective metrics.
