1. A method for managing a request to pair a first item of equipment with a second item of equipment, which is implemented by a managing device for managing a pairing request, said managing device being configured to communicate with the first item of equipment via an optical communication channel, said managing method comprising:
receiving, via said optical communication channel, a pairing request comprising data representative of an identity of the first item of equipment; and
in response to the pairing request being authorized, transmitting, via said optical communication channel, to the first item of equipment, a security key to be used during communications between the first item of equipment and the second item of equipment once the items of equipment have been paired.
