1. A communication system, comprising:
a first set of electronic devices configured to communicate with each other using a first basic service set identifier (BSSID), the first BSSID being a media access control (MAC) address of a first electronic device in the first set of electronic devices, the first electronic device having a common identifier associated therewith;
a second set of electronic devices configured to communicate with each other using a second BSSID, the second BSSID being a MAC address of a second electronic device in the second set of electronic devices, the second electronic device also having the common identifier associated therewith;
wherein the first electronic device is configured to (a1) receive and discard frames having BSSIDs that match neither the first BSSID nor the common identifier, and (b1) receive and process frames having BSSIDs that match either the first BSSID or the common identifier; and
wherein the second electronic device is configured to (a2) receive and discard frames having BSSIDs that match neither the second BSSID nor the common identifier, and (b2) receive and process frames having BSSIDs that match either the second BSSID or the common identifier,
wherein the common identifier differs from the first MAC address, the second MAC address, and a broadcast address.
