1. An electronic device comprising:
an interface including contacts for charging an external electronic device;
a current reference control circuit; and
a charging current control circuit configured to control a magnitude of a charging current applied to the interface for charging the external electronic device based on a control signal resulting from a comparison between a charging current value applied to the interface and a first critical current value configured in the current reference control circuit,
wherein the current reference control circuit is configured to:
gradually decrease the first critical current value based on a voltage value applied to the interface reaching a first critical voltage value, and
maintain the first critical current value based on the voltage value applied to the interface being less than the first critical voltage value.
