1. A splice clip for coupling discrete sections of a wire mesh cable tray, the splice clip comprising:
a bolt that includes a base, a first leaf extending away from the base, and a second leaf extending away from the base; and
a retainer with a set of pockets, including a first pocket configured to receive a first wire of a first discrete cable tray section and a second pocket configured to receive a second wire of a second discrete cable tray section;
the bolt being secured to the retainer and movable along the retainer between:
an open position, in which at least one of the first or second pockets is open to receive at least one of the first wire or the second wire, respectively; and
a closed position, in which the bolt closes the first and second pockets, the first leaf extends into the first pocket to urge the first wire into the first pocket, and the second leaf extends into the second pocket to urge the second wire into the second pocket.
