1. A method for providing transmission data for a 3D conversation, the method comprising:
obtaining dynamic capture factors indicating one or more of: 1) features of a capture device participating in the 3D conversation, 2) features of a recipient device participating in the 3D conversation, or 3) features of a network over which the 3D conversation is conducted;
obtaining a mapping of the dynamic capture factors to a capture configuration;
capturing one or more images for the 3D conversation, wherein the capturing uses a defined set of select capture devices and/or a defined set of capture device parameters based on the capture configuration; and
providing the transmission data, based on the captured one or more images, to a reconstruction system that transforms a version of the transmission data into a 3D representation;
wherein the 3D representation is rendered into one or more 2D images; and
wherein the one or more 2D images are output by a recipient system engaged in the 3D conversation.
