1. A method of user-controlled digital media distribution comprising the steps of:
receiving at a digital media rights server a digital media rights information relating to a digital media controlled by a first user;
receiving at said digital media rights server a distribution parameter required by said first user for distribution of said digital media;
receiving at said digital media rights server a distribution authorization from said first user to allow a second user to distribute, in compliance with said distribution parameter, a digital link to a digital media server storing said digital media;
distributing said digital link to a third user by said second user in compliance with said distribution parameter;
displaying said digital link to said third user;
receiving from said third user at said digital media server a request for said digital media via said digital link;
distributing from said digital media server said digital media to said third user;
providing in real-time to said first user a real-time distribution statistic regarding said digital media including the distribution of said digital media to said third user;
receiving at said digital media rights server an updated distribution parameter from said first user for further distribution of said digital media;
modifying said digital link with said updated distribution parameter in real time via said digital media rights server;
displaying to said third user said digital link with said updated distribution parameter;
receiving from said third user at said digital media server a second request for said digital media via said digital link with said updated distribution parameter;
distributing from said digital media server said digital media to said third user in compliance with said updated distribution parameter;
providing in real-time to said second user said real-time distribution statistic including the distribution of said digital media to said third user; and
providing in real-time to said first user and to said second user a second real-time distribution statistic regarding said digital media including the second distribution of said digital media to said third user;
wherein each of said first user, said second user, and said third user is different from each of the other two users.
