1. A prime mover and generator regulation system based on output signal sensing, the system comprising:
a generator, wherein, when enabled, the generator operably coupled and configured to generate an output electrical power signal;
a drive-sense circuit (DSC) operably coupled to the output electrical power signal that is provided from the generator, wherein, when enabled, the DSC operably coupled and configured to:
drive a signal via a single line to a coupling of the output electrical power signal and also simultaneously to sense the signal via the single line including to detect an effect on the signal that is based on an electrical characteristic of the output electrical power signal; and
generate a digital signal representative of the electrical characteristic of the output electrical power signal;
a regulator operably coupled to the generator, wherein, when enabled, the regulator configured to adapt and direct operation of the generator based on control signaling from one or more processing modules;
memory that stores operational instructions; and
the one or more processing modules operably coupled to the DSC, the memory, and the regulator, wherein, when enabled, the one or more processing modules is configured to execute the operational instructions to generate the control signaling to be used by the regulator based on the digital signal representative of the electrical characteristic of the output electrical power signal from the DSC.
