1. An imitation leather comprising a laminar velour knitted fabric, the laminar velour knitted fabric comprising: a top side and a bottom side, wherein the top side comprises a pile and the bottom side comprises a knitted fabric of at least one pile material consisting only of polyester and at least one base material consisting only of polyester, wherein the at least one pile material of the knitted fabric is formed of at least one pile yarn and the base material in the knitted fabric is formed of at least one base yarn, wherein the pile comprises the at least one pile material, wherein the at least one pile material of the pile comprises individual fibrils with a fineness of at most 2 dtex per fibril, wherein the bottom side of the knitted fabric is free of an adhesive and the knitted fabric has a stitch density of 400 to 800 mesh/cm2, and wherein the laminar velour knitted fabric does not contain an alkaline dissolution component.
