1. A composition for 3D printing, comprising:
a aqueous liquid comprising a polymerizable entity configured to photopolymerize, water, and a photopolymerization initiator; and
nanocapsules comprising a surfactant, the nanocapsules having an interior portion and an outer portion, the interior portion comprising an upconversion material, and the outer portion comprising a silica shell with polyethylene glycol covalently bonded to the silica shell,
wherein the upconversion material comprises a sensitizer and an annihilator, and is configured to emit upconverted light when electromagnetic radiation is applied, the upconverted light capable of initiating polymerization of the polymerizable entity.
