1. A liftgate assembly, comprising:
a platform connected to a plurality of risers, the platform configured to be movable between a stowed position and a deployed position, the platform including a perimetral wall and an interior surface, the interior surface including one or more depression to accommodate the routing of one or more wiring assembly along the platform; and
a camera assembly comprising a rear-view camera and an adjustable mount, the camera assembly mounted to the platform such that the rear-view camera is positioned near the position where a manufacturer-installed camera would be positioned on a tailgate of a pickup truck for which the liftgate assembly is designed for installation upon; and
a protective member positioned to protect the rear-view camera from exposure to an abrasive surface,
wherein the adjustable mount includes a plurality of engagement elements; and
wherein the platform includes routing for the camera assembly wiring.
