20 Claims

1. A magnetic filter for a central heating and/or cooling system, the magnetic filter comprising:

a chamber in the form of a cylindrical pipe having an inlet and an outlet at either end of the pipe;

a framework fixed to an outside of the pipe, the framework including a bar running along the outside of the pipe, parallel to the pipe;

the framework further including two two-part clamps, each clamp having two semi-circular pieces fixed to each other to fix the clamp around a circumference of the chamber;

and multiple elongate curved magnetic assemblies which are disposed along the bar and are each pivotally mounted to the bar on a pivot disposed at one end of the magnetic assembly,

each of the elongate curved magnetic assemblies being individually movable such that a major length of the elongate magnetic assembly is movable from a position close to the chamber to a position spaced from the chamber by pivoting the magnetic assembly on the pivot.
