1. A computer implemented method, comprising:
detecting a selection of a character in a graphical user interface of a display of a computing device by a pointer device;
detecting a movement of the pointer device on the graphical user interface towards a target object on the graphical user interface;
detecting that the pointer device is within a predetermined distance of the target object on the graphical user interface;
determining that the selected character is configured to execute a job with respect to the target object;
highlighting the target object on the display when the pointer device is within the predetermined distance and the selected character is capable of executing the job;
causing the selected character to execute the job when the selecting by the pointer device is released; and
updating a presentation of the target object on the graphical user interface to show a result of the executed job.
