21. A table for supporting a patient, comprising:
a platform comprising a top surface, a first end, and a second end, the platform configured to support at least a portion of the patient;
a support column positioned beneath the platform;
a base positioned beneath a support column and configured to support the support column, the base comprising at least one drive wheel; and
an attachment selectively connectable to either the first end or the second end of the platform of the table to form a segment of the table, the attachment comprising:
a plate comprising a top surface,
a cross beam supporting the plate, and
an opening; and
a drive assist user interface module removably attached to the cross beam of the attachment, the drive assist user interface module operatively connected to the at least one drive wheel, the drive assist user interface module configured to permit an operator of the system to selectively control movement of the at least one drive wheel and guide movement of the table, the drive assist user interface module comprising:
a first actuator, and
a second actuator configured to initiate or control motion of the at least one drive wheel, wherein the second actuator is configured to only be active when the first actuator is engaged by an operator,
wherein the drive assist user interface module is rotatable relative to the attachment about an axis extending parallel to the cross-beam between a stowed position and a use position, and the drive wheel is locked so it cannot drive the table when the drive assist user interface module is in the stowed position, and
wherein, when the first actuator is engaged by a hand of an operator, the attachment is positioned and configured to be gripped by one or more fingers of the same hand of the operator extending through the opening.
