1. A method of facilitating sending and receiving security alerts, the method comprising:
receiving a security message at a security forum over a network from a first mobile device of a plurality of mobile devices, wherein the security message comprises geographic location information of an incident and wherein each of the plurality of mobile devices is associated with an account of a user having a plurality of zones of interest comprising one or more fixed alert areas with static geographical boundaries and one or more roving alert areas with dynamic geographical boundaries based on a location of an associated mobile device;
creating a forum security message within the security forum, the security forum comprising a processor communicatively coupled to a memory and a network interface, the network interface communicatively coupled to the network, wherein the memory further comprises a fixed location manager and a roving location manager;
associating the geographic location information of the incident with the forum security message;
identifying a subset of the plurality of mobile devices, wherein at least one of the plurality of zones of interest of the account of each of the mobile devices included in the subset of the plurality of mobile devices overlaps with the geographic location information of the incident;
making the forum security message available to the subset of the plurality of mobile devices; and
notifying the subset of the plurality of mobile devices about the forum security message.
