1. A method, comprising:
creating by a node of a blockchain network, a genesis block associated with a new blockchain of the blockchain network in response to a current blockchain of the blockchain network changing from an open stage to a closing stage based on an expiration of a time window defined in a smart contract implemented on the current blockchain;
modifying by the node, a smart contract for the new blockchain;
communicating by the node, the modified smart contract to the genesis block; and
writing by the node, a potential blockchain transaction to the new blockchain based on initiating an open stage of the new blockchain, wherein the initiating of the open stage is based on the creation of the genesis block.
