1. A method for implanting a cardiac valve prosthesis, the method comprising:
advancing a cardiac valve prosthesis in a contracted state to an implantation site, the cardiac valve prosthesis comprising an armature and a set of prosthetic valve leaflets supported by the armature, the armature comprising an annular part, a plurality of arched struts coupled to the annular part, a plurality of support posts supported by adjacent arched struts, and a plurality of sets of anchoring formations; and
deploying the cardiac valve prosthesis at the implantation site such that the plurality of sets of anchoring formation protrude radially outward of the annular part, each set supported by the annular part or a corresponding arched strut or both,
wherein each support post is angularly arranged between two adjacent arched struts at an inter-strut position, the inter-strut position corresponding to the position of a proximal end shared between the two adjacent arched struts.
