1. A method for wireless communication between a computing device and a second computing device, the method comprising:
at the computing device:
receiving a control message with a field indicating that the second computing device is configured to decode a received signal using interference cancellation;
identifying that a level of interference on a wireless channel used by the computing device and the second computing device satisfies a preset threshold condition of interference; and
responsive to identifying that the level of interference of the wireless channel satisfies the preset threshold condition of interference and based upon receiving the control message with the field indicating that the second computing device is capable of interference cancellation:
lowering a transmission power level of a second signal of the computing device sent to the second computing device, the transmission power level lowered from a transmission power level for sending the second signal had the level of interference of the wireless channel not satisfied the preset threshold condition of interference.
