1. A siding panel, comprising:
a siding body having a front surface, a rear surface, an upper edge, and a lower edge;
a hanger section extending from the upper edge and comprising an upper converging bend, the hanger section further comprising a lower lateral wall extending inwardly from the upper edge of the siding body; and
a lower locking section extending from the lower edge and comprising:
a lower return leg;
an upward extending lip; and
a locking flange extending from the upwardly extending lip,
wherein the locking flange is configured to be inserted into a recessed locking section of a hanger section of an adjacent siding panel, and
wherein the siding panel is configured such that contact between a lower extension of the siding panel and an outer wall of the hanger section of the adjacent siding panel impedes the locking flange from contacting the recessed locking section of the hanger section of the adjacent siding panel.
