1. A friction stir welding attachment comprising:
a body configured to be attached to a spindle or a spindle head of a machine tool;
a metalworking shaft rotatably supported by the body and including an attachment portion configured to attach a welding tool at an end thereof, and
a pair of press components supported by the body and arranged opposed to one another across the attachment portion to each respectively press a workpiece at a respective opposite side of the welding tool, wherein
the press components are each made of a disc-shaped elastic material and are each supported in a manner rotatable around a rotation axis diagonally intersecting a rotation axis of the metalworking shaft, and a portion of a first of the pair of press components configured to contact the workpiece is opposed to a portion of a second of the pair of press components configured to contact the workpiece.
