1. A system for assisting a rescuer in providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) chest compressions, the system comprising:
at least one motion sensor configured to generate motion sensor signals comprising acceleration signals indicative of acceleration of the chest of a victim in response to the CPR chest compressions; and
a defibrillator coupled to the at least one motion sensor, the defibrillator comprising:
a display screen configured to provide CPR feedback and defibrillation information; and
a processor, a memory, and associated circuitry, wherein the processor is configured to:
receive the motion sensor signals comprising the acceleration signals,
generate at least one compression waveform from the received acceleration signals indicative of the motion of the chest of the victim,
analyze the generated at least one compression waveform for quantitative and/or qualitative features characteristic of a particular compression delivery system to distinguish between chest compression delivery types comprising manual compression, non-automated active compression-decompression (ACD), and automated ACD,
identify the chest compression delivery type as one of the manual compression, the non-automated ACD, or the automated ACD,
selectively provide the CPR feedback at the display screen based at least in part on whether the chest compression delivery type is identified as the manual compression, as the non-automated ACD, or as the automated ACD,
wherein the selective provision of the CPR feedback comprises:
a provision at the display screen of a plurality of CPR parameters if the chest compression delivery type is identified as the manual compression,
a removal from the display screen of at least a first portion of the plurality of CPR parameters if the chest compression delivery type is identified as the non-automated ACD, and
a removal from the display screen of at least a second portion of the plurality of CPR parameters if the compression delivery type is identified as the automated ACD.
