1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising a processor and memory, the processor and memory configured to:
receive, from a network node, a composite carrier indicator (CCI), wherein the CCI is communicated via downlink control information (DCI) of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission via a common search space, wherein the CCI is for identification of a plurality of frequency bands that are available in an unlicensed carrier, and the DCI indicates a channel occupancy time associated with the plurality of frequency bands that are identified as available in the unlicensed carrier;
determine that an uplink transmission is comprised within the plurality of frequency bands that are identified as available in the unlicensed carrier and that the uplink transmission occurs within the channel occupancy time indicated by the DCI;
determine that at least one guard band is available for the uplink transmission based at least on determining that the guard band is between the plurality of frequency bands used for the uplink transmission;
based on determining that that the uplink grant comprised within the plurality of frequency bands that are identified as available in the unlicensed carrier occurs within the channel occupancy time indicated by the DCI, determine to switch from a first type of listen before talk (LBT) procedure to a second type LBT procedure for the uplink transmission;
determine that the second type of LBT procedure is successful for the uplink transmission comprised within the plurality of frequency bands that are identified as available in the unlicensed carrier occurring within the channel occupancy time indicated by the DCI; and
send the uplink transmission based on the second type of LBT being successful.
