1. A method for generating a composite input signal, the method comprising:
identifying a participant device to a media conference;
selecting, in response to the identifying the participant device, a first input device of the participant device as a selected input device;
receiving, from the first input device, a first input signal;
determining that a first characteristic of the first input signal does not satisfy a threshold;
activating, in response to the determining that the first characteristic of the first input signal does not satisfy the threshold, a second input device of the participant device;
receiving, from the second input device, a second input signal;
combining the first input signal and the second input signal into the composite input signal;
determining that the composite input signal has a higher quality than either the first input signal or the second input signal individually; and
outputting the composite input signal.
