1. A separator for an electrochemical device, comprising:
a porous polymer substrate, and
a heat resistant coating layer on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate,
wherein the heat resistant coating layer comprises heat resistant particles, and the heat resistant particles comprise a particle-shaped inorganic material, and fluorine (F) atoms doped to a surface of the particle-shaped inorganic material,
wherein the particle-shaped inorganic material comprises at least one of alumina (Al2O3), aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3), boehmite (AlOOH), or B(OH)3, and the fluorine (F) atoms are doped in the form of AlF3 or BF3, and
wherein the heat resistant particles comprise fluorine (F) atoms at 5 atomic % or more relative to a total atomic % of ingredients on the surface of the heat resistance particles.
