1. A battery comprising:
a cathode comprising:
a substrate comprising elemental silver and optionally silver oxide; and
a silver sulfide coating on at least a portion of the substrate;
an anode; and
a separator between the cathode and the anode;
wherein the separator comprises:
a nylon layer in contact with the cathode; and
a polypropylene layer in contact with the anode.
