1. A copper-coated steel wire comprising:
a core wire made of a steel; and
a coating layer that covers an outer peripheral surface of the core wire, the coating layer being made of copper or a copper alloy,
wherein, in a cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the core wire, a ten-point average roughness Rzjis of the outer peripheral surface of the core wire is 50% or more and 250% or less of a thickness of the coating layer; and
wherein, in the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the core wire, an arithmetic average roughness Ra of the outer peripheral surface of the core wire is 25% or more and 70% or less of the thickness of the coating layer.
