1. A vehicle test system comprising:
a vehicle simulator comprising hardware from a vehicle to be tested;
a controller coupled to the vehicle simulator configured to provide control inputs to devices for the vehicle simulator; and
a 3D environmental simulator coupled to the vehicle simulator, wherein the 3D environmental simulator is configured to simulate and display a virtual 3D environment painted with real world data and to simulate and display movement of a virtual vehicle simulated by the vehicle simulator in the virtual 3D environment, including at least one of speed of a vehicle with reference to a sea bottom or height from a sea bottom, based on control inputs to devices for the vehicle simulator from the controller to the vehicle simulator, wherein the controller is configured to provide control data comprising a sequence of user input commands previously gathered from a vehicle in a real-world environment, in time stamped data to perform a sequential simulation in an ordered fashion according to the time stamped data, to the vehicle simulator.
