1. A handheld device, comprising:
a device body configured to be manipulated by a hand of a device user;
electronic circuitry within the device body that includes a device processor;
a device light beam source configured to project a light beam away from the device body to generate a beam reflection at a beam reflection location on a surface viewable by the device user; and
a device camera operatively coupled to the device processor and aligned such that a field-of-view of the device camera includes the beam reflection location, wherein the device processor is configured to:
acquire a camera image;
identify a selected page layout based on a match of the camera image to one of one or more predetermined interactive page layouts; and
perform an action based, at least in part, on the selected page layout.
