1. A method for disconnecting production tubing at a polished bore receptacle, comprising:
actuating a piston, via a control line, to travel from a first position to a second position within a polished bore receptacle within a wellbore, wherein the polished bore receptacle comprises a tubing disconnect latch system connecting first and second sections of tubing; and
shearing a set of pins to release the tubing disconnect latch system in response to the travel of the piston from the first position to the second position.
