1. A dispensing closure for flowable product, the dispensing closure comprising
a base and
a lid,
wherein the base comprises a dispensing spout, the closure further comprises a rigid spigot bearing insert locatable in the spout, the closure further comprising a flexible membrane having one or more dispensing apertures, the membrane seals against a central spigot of the insert so that the spigot blocks the one or more dispensing apertures, and in use positive product pressure pushes against the membrane to release the seal so that product can flow through the one or more dispensing apertures,
in which the flexible membrane fits into the spout and the insert clips into the spout to retain the flexible membrane, and
in which in a rested position the flexible membrane sits upon and deforms to the contours of the insert and central spigot feature seated underneath the flexible membrane,
in which the insert comprises an outer ring from which extend three spokes that carry the central spigot,
wherein the flexible membrane is formed to include two or more legs extending from a bottom of the flexible membrane, each of the two or more legs extending between the three spokes of the insert, wherein each of the two or more legs includes a lower end with a foot coupled thereto, and wherein each foot extends radially outward away from the respective leg relative to a central axis of the closure such that the outer ring of the insert is arranged radially between the two or more legs and the feet, and the two or more legs and the feet cooperate to secure the insert into position.
