1. An alerting system comprising: a risk calculation unit that calculates a risk indicator indicating a risk of collision between a vehicle and an object existing in front of the vehicle, based on a distance between the vehicle and the object; and a notification unit that, when a calculated value of the risk indicator falls in a predetermined value range, executes a notification at a predetermined conspicuousness level to a driver of the vehicle via an HMI device, the alerting system further comprising:
a decision unit that decides on a notification parameter set including a parameter defining an output timing of outputting the notification and a parameter defining the conspicuousness level of the notification outputted from the HMI device;
a behavior recording unit that, when the notification unit executes the notification at the output timing and the conspicuousness level indicated by the decided notification parameter set, records whether or not a reactive behavior to the notification occurs in driving behavior of the driver; and
a reaction information recording unit that calculates a reaction ratio with respect to each of the different notification parameter sets and records, in a storage device, reaction information in which the notification parameter set and the reaction ratio are associated, the reaction ratio being a ratio of the number of times the driver exhibits the reactive behavior in response to the notification to the number of the notifications executed,
wherein the decision unit calculates and decides on an optimal parameter set, based on relations between the notification parameter sets and the reaction ratios indicated by the reaction information, the optimal parameter set being the notification parameter set with which the reaction ratio is estimated to become the highest.
