1. A composition comprising a soluble rice bran extract, the soluble rice bran extract having between about 3% and about 9% (w/w) total phosphorous content and being present in an amount effective to improve one or more properties selected from a cooked weight yield, water retention, a textural attribute, a hardness, oxidation stability, reduced purge, slicing yields, and a shelf life of a meat product or a seafood product, the total phosphorous content being from natural phosphorous-based molecules in the soluble rice bran extract.
