1. A method of content delivery, comprising:
providing an Internet-accessible edge network having a set of servers that are shared among participating content providers; and
delivering content objects to a mesh-assisted cache of a mesh network, the mesh network having been built by associating physically-proximate wireless devices, the wireless devices being physically-proximate as determined at least in part by a minimum threshold of signal strength configured at one of the wireless devices, wherein addressable data storage at each of the physically-proximate wireless devices is associated together into the mesh-assisted cache, and wherein each wireless device includes an in-memory map of the content objects available in its addressable data storage;
wherein, responsive to receipt of a poll, a server in the set determine and provides a configuration for a particular physically-proximate wireless device with respect to the mesh network; and
wherein at least one or more cache eviction and revocation rules as determined by the edge network are provided to and enforced for the addressable data storage at each of the physically-proximate wireless devices.
