1. An electronic gaming machine comprising:
at least one processor;
a player interface comprising a touch screen display; and
at least one computer-readable medium coupled to the at least one processor and comprising computer-executable instructions executable by the at least one processor to:
determine that a triggering event has occurred, the triggering event in response to external interaction with the electronic gaming machine and indicating that supplemental information should be rendered for display on the electronic gaming machine;
determine at least one first condition associated with the triggering event;
determine the supplemental information associated with the at least one first condition;
render the supplemental information for display, the supplemental information being unrelated to game play by a particular player of the electronic gaming machine, at least a portion of the supplemental information being rendered on the player interface, the at least the portion of the supplemental information rendered on the player interface comprises a handling guide indicating at least one action to be taken by a user with respect to the player interface and a location of the touch screen display where the at least one action should not be performed;
detect user contact with the player interface;
compare the user contact with a second condition associated with the handling guide; and
determine whether the user contact satisfies the second condition.
