1. A method for presenting media content previews, the method comprising:
causing a plurality of thumbnail images to be presented on a user device that is associated with a headset display, wherein each thumbnail image represents a respective media content item of a plurality of media content items available for presentation on the user device;
causing a first view of a spherical content preview of a particular media content item of the plurality of media content items corresponding to a respective one of the thumbnail images to be presented on the headset display based on a viewpoint of the headset display being directed to the one of the thumbnail images of the plurality of thumbnail images,
wherein the particular media content item includes video content recorded from multiple views, and
wherein the spherical content preview includes preview video content including at least the first view and a second view of the multiple views;
determining that the viewpoint of the headset display has changed to be angled toward the spherical content preview of the particular media content item associated with the respective thumbnail image; and
in response to determining that the viewpoint of the headset display has changed to be angled toward the spherical content preview, causing presentation of the video content of the particular media content item.
