1. A projection type image display device comprising:
a light source;
a first diffusion plate;
a second diffusion plate; and
a screen;
wherein the first diffusion plate and the second diffusion plate are arranged in series between the light source and the screen on an optical path from the light source to the screen,
both the first diffusion plate and the second diffusion plate have a micro-lens array,
the micro-lens array has a plurality of micro lenses arranged in a matrix in a plan view,
each of the plurality of micro-lenses has four main sides or four main sides and one or more sub-sides which connect two main sides of the four main sides in a plan view,
each of the four main sides is inclined with respect to a row virtual line parallel to a row direction or a column virtual line parallel to a column direction,
each of the four main sides has an inclination angle θ in a predetermined range with respect to the row virtual line or the column virtual line, and
an absolute value of the inclination angle θ is 2.5°≤θ≤27.7°.
