1. A sleep optimization system comprising a server, wherein the server:
receives one or more types of sleep data comprising a plurality of sleep parameters from one or more peripheral devices or computers, wherein the sleep parameters are uniquely tailored to an individual;
calculates from the plurality of sleep parameters a duration by phase data table where each cell contains the average benchmark data values (DVs);
calculates data plots duration by phase for each DV;
determines which duration by phase sleep profile is associated with most optimal performance for each DV; and
determines which duration by phase sleep profile is associated with optimal performance for all of the DVs with weighted DVs to output optimal sleep recommendations as adjustments to sleep time and sleep duration;
wherein the optimal sleep recommendations are calculated using an indication of “time to bed” (TOB), “time to sleep” (TTS), or “time out of bed” (TOB).
