1. An apparatus for a service providing middleware services to a plurality of applications, the apparatus comprising circuitry configured to:
store a context comprising information concerning a service session established between a first service instance of the service and an application executing on a device, wherein the context comprises information defining policies by which migration of the service session is to be performed; and
in response to a trigger condition indicating that the service session between the first service instance and the application is to be migrated to a second service instance of the service, migrate the stored context for the service session from the first service instance to the second service instance,
wherein the service supports service capabilities through a set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
