1. A method, comprising:
determining, via a monitoring server, a plurality of services to monitor at each of a plurality of servers;
transmitting a status inquiry at least about a Level 5 layer to each of the plurality of servers;
receiving a status message report from each of the plurality of servers, wherein the status message report is received by the monitoring server when an abnormal condition for a service of the plurality of services is detected; and
reporting an event in an event log for each of the plurality of servers where the status is abnormal,
wherein one of the plurality of services is network availability of the plurality of servers.
