15. A method of operating a central node to process an event record for an event detected at a detection node, the method comprising:
receiving, by the central node and from the detection node, the event record, wherein the event record contains an event timestamp;
receiving, by the central node and from the detection node, a plurality of offset records, each offset record identifying the detection node and a neighbor node, containing a timestamp associated with the offset record, and containing a time offset relative to the neighbor node;
adjusting, by the central node, the event timestamp using the time offset in a given offset record of the plurality of offset records identified based on the timestamp of the given offset record and the event timestamp; and
performing, by the central node, a timestamp-pertinent action based on the adjusted event timestamp.
