1. A computer implemented method comprising:
determining, by one or more computing devices of a ring scanner, an inclination angle of the ring scanner with respect to a ground;
wherein the ring scanner comprises a loop encircling a middle phalanx of a finger enabling the finger to be bent at a proximal interphalangeal joint, wherein the finger is bent towards a left or a right direction allowing the finger to grip the ring scanner;
wherein the inclination angle is determined based on an angle between the ground and a plane that the middle phalanx is pointing; and
based on the inclination angle, setting an operating mode for the ring scanner, wherein the operating mode comprises either a communication mode or a scanning mode.
