1. A sample holder, comprising:
a sensing chamber, the sensing chamber having a sample receiving portion and a sensing portion; and
a substrate positioned in the sensing chamber, the substrate including a sample reception area and a sensing area the sample reception area in the sample receiving portion of the sensing chamber, the sensing area in the sensing portion of the sensing chamber, the substrate including a portion configured to transfer a liquid part of a sample from the sample reception area to the sensing area by first capillary forces,
wherein the sensing chamber has an end and a single opening, the single opening in the end,
wherein the sample holder further includes a first conduit connected to the single opening in the sample receiving portion,
wherein the sensing portion is positioned closer to a predetermined axis than the sample receiving portion,
wherein the end is a farthest end from the predetermined axis, and
wherein the first conduit extends from the single opening to a position closer to the predetermined axis than the sample receiving portion.
