1. An infrared sensing device comprising:
a variable resistance portion whose electrical resistance varies in response to irradiation of the infrared sensing device with an infrared ray; and
a detection portion that detects the variation of the electrical resistance of the variable resistance portion, wherein
the variable resistance portion includes a material potentially absorbing an infrared ray by localized surface plasmon resonance,
the variable resistance portion is a single layer film,
the detection portion includes an electrode group that applies voltage to the variable resistance portion,
the electrode group includes a first electrode and a second electrode, the first electrode being electrically connected to a positive electrode of a power source, the second electrode being electrically connected to a negative electrode of the power source, and
both the first electrode and the second electrode are in direct contact with the variable resistance portion.
