1. A valve comprising:
a valve housing including
a sidewall having an open first end and an open second end that is opposite the first end,
a detachable lid that closes the first end of the sidewall,
a base that is disposed at the second end of the sidewall and is perpendicular to the sidewall, the base, the lid and the sidewall cooperating to define a chamber, and
valve ports, each valve port communicating with the chamber; and
a diverter assembly disposed in the chamber, the diverter assembly configured to control fluid flow through the valve housing, the diverter assembly including
a shaft that protrudes through an opening in the lid, the shaft being rotatable relative to the valve housing about a rotational axis that is parallel to the sidewall;
a lid-facing surface,
a base-facing surface, and
diverter through openings that extend between the lid-facing surface and the base-facing surface,
a first pocket associated with the lid-facing surface, the first pocket opening toward the lid, and
a second pocket associated with the base-facing surface, the second pocket opening toward the base,
wherein, for a specific rotational orientation of the diverter assembly with respect to the valve housing, at least one of the first pocket and the second pocket is configured to receive fluid flow directed in a first direction that is parallel to the rotational axis and to reflect the received fluid flow in a second direction that is parallel to the rotational axis and opposite the first direction.
