1. A welding-type system to output welding-type power, comprising:
a power circuit configured to output welding-type power to a first electrode and a second electrode via a working current path between the first electrode and the second electrode, the working current path configured to conduct the welding-type power; and
a bypass path for the welding-type power, wherein:
the bypass path comprises a plurality of diodes,
a first diode of the plurality of diodes comprises a first voltage drop and a second diode of the plurality of diodes comprises a second voltage drop, and
upon a voltage of the working current path exceeding a voltage threshold, the bypass path conducts the welding-type power in parallel with the working current path.
