1. A device for assessing and/or rehabilitating the upper limbs of a subject, said device comprising a display surface, a detection surface, and a processing unit, wherein:
the display surface is configured to display at least one predefined shape having a predefined position and a predefined orientation with respect to the display surface;
the detection surface comprises an array of light emitters arranged to generate a grid of light beams on the display surface, and an array of light detectors, each light detector being configured to detect the light beam from a respective light emitter and to generate a signal representative of the detected light; and
the processing unit is configured to:
receive as input the signal generated from the light detectors;
based on the received signal, determine the presence of an object obstructing at least one light beam on the detection surface;
if the presence of an object is determined, determine the position, the orientation and the shape of the object;
calculate a similarity metrics based on at least one of the predefined positions, orientation and shape of the shape displayed on the display surface and respectively at least one of the previously determined position, orientation and shape of the object.
