1. A method for determining the severity of a stenotic lesion comprising:
generating, by one or more processors, a 3D model of a vessel that is based on vessel image data taken from a patient;
identifying, by the one or more processors, a stenotic lesion within the vessel;
generating, by the one or more processors, a patient-specific blood flow or resistance model of the vessel based on the vessel image data taken from the patient;
calculating, by the one or more processors, one or more vessel blood flow or resistance values in a region of the stenotic lesion, wherein at least one of the one or more vessel blood flow or resistance values are based on the patient-specific blood flow or resistance model simulating a hyperemic condition within the patient without physically inducing a hyperemic condition, and wherein the patient-specific blood flow or resistance model incorporates hyperemic microvascular resistance of branch vessels from the vessel;
providing for display the one or more vessel blood flow or resistance values in relation to a representation of the vessel.
