1. A method of operating a user equipment (UE), comprising:
receiving configuration of a plurality of frequency-domain resources, wherein each frequency-domain resource configuration is associated with a bandwidth and subcarrier spacing (SCS);
receiving configuration of one or more positioning reference signals (PRSs), wherein each PRS configuration is associated with a single frequency-domain resource from the plurality of frequency-domain resources;
selecting, for transmission of at least one of the one or more PRSs, one or more of the plurality of frequency-domain resources; and
transmitting an on-demand request for the at least one PRS on the one or more selected frequency-domain resources to a network component.
