1. A communication method carried out on a sending device, the method comprising:
determining a to-be-sent data packet that is a data packet comprising an ethernet header, wherein a header compression function for compressing a header of the to-be-sent data packet is carried out at a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, and wherein the header compression function is configured by a radio resource control (RRC) signaling;
determining a field to be compressed in the header of the to-be-sent data packet, wherein the field to be compressed comprises a destination address field, a source address field and a length/type field;
compressing the header of the to-be-sent data packet according to a preset method in the PDCP layer, wherein the preset method comprises:
removing the field to be compressed from the header of the to-be-sent data packet, or
replacing the field to be compressed with a context identifier of the header of the to-be-sent data packet; and
sending a data packet obtained after the compressing the header of the to-be-sent data Packet,
wherein, before sending the data packet, the method further comprises:
receiving, from a receiving device, first feedback information for ethernet header context compression;
wherein sending a data packet comprises:
after receiving the first feedback information from the receiving device, start to transmit the to-be-sent data packet of which the header is compressed.
