1. A method comprising:
instructing a communication fabric comprising one or more communication switches to establish a first logical partition in the communication fabric to form a first compute unit by segregating port visibility among a first subset of physical ports of the one or more communication switches associated with a first processing device and a memory device individually coupled to the communication fabric over separate communication interfaces for arbitrary arrangement into the first compute unit using the first logical partition;
directing transfer of configuration data for storage by the memory device over the first logical partition;
after transfer of the configuration data, instructing the communication fabric to remove the memory device from the first compute unit and de-establish port visibility to the first processing device, wherein the configuration data remains stored by the memory device; and
instructing the communication fabric to establish a second logical partition in the communication fabric to form a second compute unit by segregating port visibility among a second subset of physical ports of the one or more communication switches associated with at least a second processing device and the memory device comprising the configuration data, wherein the second processing device is individually coupled to the communication fabric over an associated communication interface for arbitrary arrangement into the second compute unit using the second logical partition and is operated using the configuration data stored on the memory device.
